The University of Houston is currently seeking to hire a Director of University Marketing. In this role, you will direct a comprehensive marketing program for the University of Houston. In addition, you will coordinate related university-wide activities. You will also develop and implement strategic marketing and operating plans, and direct a team of marketing professionals to support the marketing needs of the university.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct a comprehensive marketing program, including research strategy and execution, designed to support the university’s strategic goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and operating plans to advance the university
  • Direct university-wide marketing, branding and image building campaigns and efforts to increase awareness and enhance the overall university image
  • Oversee market research efforts for the university
  • Direct and participate in other university marketing activities, including strategic planning, market research and organizational effectiveness initiatives
  • Direct university-wide training, development, and resources for campus network of marketing and communications professionals
  • Engage and educate the campus community on marketing initiatives, messages, etc.
  • Direct departmental operations, including management of staff, planning and administration of budget and resources
  • Provide leadership and serve as a resource for the university regarding successful marketing activities, techniques, and methods
  • Stay abreast of best practices in integrated marketing, brand messaging and current market trends in higher education, and translates that understanding into successful strategic marketing for the university
  • Direct the strategic marketing, branding and content of the university web site
  • Collaborate closely with Creative Services team to execute marketing plans, content strategy and media placement
  • Develop content and messaging strategy and partner across Division to align messaging
  • Manage agency partners day to day and provide direction and guidance for initiatives
  • Help maintain timeline and key milestones for major initiatives
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience
