We are currently seeking to hire a Project Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and coordinating key strategic projects according to scope and department initiative. You will routinely develop, coordinate, and complete projects from design implementation to measurement and maintenance of desired outcomes in coordination with management, developing meaningful reports to support business activities, and communicating professionally and persuasively verbally and in writing. In addition, you will monitor milestones and identify potential barriers to assure successful execution and stabilization of processes, including monitoring and focusing on ongoing analysis of quality and financial outcomes. The selected candidate will regularly provide comprehensive communication regarding project analysis, assignment, timelines, and progress reports to the leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain formal and informal communication with partners, clinicians, and department leadership to identify needs and constraints of project scope and status availability
  • Coordinate communication and assist in managing stakeholder(s) expectations
  • Serve as an effective liaison between multiple client groups and stakeholders across various levels of management
  • Effectively implement and manage project needs with various stakeholders, including clear communication and timely delivery of project outputs
  • Create and develop presentation and informational materials, as appropriate
  • Provide input to clients in an advisory capacity in order to help individuals make sound business decisions by identifying needs, making assessments, and problem solving
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Oversee work efforts as appropriate to ensure the best possible delivery of service, quality outcomes, and high customer satisfaction
  • Actively participate in meetings, as assigned, and provide meaningful contributions that assist in driving decision-making and aids in clearly identifies next steps
  • Assist with developing and preparing clear and concise communications, business cases/analysis, reports, and presentations with compelling data for leadership review
  • Utilize data gathering tools and methods to analyze and gather data needed for project requirements
  • Communicate and disseminate timely data analysis and findings to management and appropriate entities and/or identified committees
  • Document and implement training strategies for projects
  • Provide ongoing training, education, and communication required for projects across Houston Methodist and multiple departments, as appropriate
  • Track the status and coordinate deadlines of all assigned projects, utilizing a variety of software application
  • Identify potential barriers to project progression and work towards solutions/resolutions
  • Utilize efficient and cost-effective work practices with department resources and supplies
  • Provide recommendations to reduce expenses
  • Complete timely and accurate expense reports as determined by leadership, as applicable
  • Provide supportive financial documentation related to assigned projects, to aid in the evaluation of project effectiveness
  • Participate in strategic planning for department
  • Generate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that improve quality or service
  • Support hospital and department goals and offers innovative solutions through participation in department projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of current practices
  • Seek opportunities to expand learning beyond baseline competencies with a focus on continual development

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three years of experience in a related discipline, managing multiple projects of a complex nature for a significant duration
  • Master’s degree combined with HM Fellow satisfies all experience requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to conduct effective presentations
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive Sponsor, project team member and internal relationships
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (i.e., creating pivot tables, performing v-lookups, and managing large data sets)
  • Intermediate word-processing and presentation software skills
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in the face of changing demands
